An Egyptian court has sentenced ousted president Mohammed Morsi to death over a mass prison break in 2011.

The former leader has already been sentenced to 20 years in jail for ordering the arrest and torture of protesters during his time in power.

Morsi was deposed by the military in July 2013 following mass street protests against his rule.

Since then, the authorities have banned his Muslim Brotherhood movement and arrested thousands of his supporters.

All death sentences must first be sent to the Grand Mufti, Egypt’s highest religious authority, for his opinion on whether they should stand.

Convictions are still open to appeal, even if the Grand Mufti gives his approval.

Morsi’s supporters have said that the cases against him are politically motivated and attempts to give legal cover to a coup, while Morsi has rejected the authority of the courts.

According to him, at about 2pm on Thursday, May 14, 2015, his command received a distress call that armed robbers had blocked the Mamponteng – Adwumakaase-Kese road and were terrorising passengers.

Police quickly responded to the call and spotted the Pick-up vehicle and a TD Urvan bus, registered AS 1058 – 15, parked at the crime scene with a lot of fear-stricken passengers.

Acting on suspicion, the district commander said, the police raided a Fulani base in the locality to conduct a search, which led to the arrest of nine suspects and the retrieval of a crowbar and machete in their possession.

Superintendent Kpeberson said six of the suspects were identified as members of the alleged robbery gang and added that they would be processed for court.

Fusking software is designed to scour photo hosting sites and effectively guess the name of files even if they haven't been publicly shared. 

 

And Brandon Bourret, 39, from Colorado Springs and Athanasios Andrianakis, 26, from Sunnyvale, California are accused of using and selling such software to infiltrate files on Photobucket for almost two years.

 

According to the US Department of Justice, between 12 July 2012 and 1 July 2014, the pair 'knowingly conspired to commit acts and offenses, namely computer fraud and abuse, access device fraud, identification document fraud and wire fraud.'

 

 

As part of this alleged illegal activity, Bourret and Andrianakis developed and sold an app called 'Photof****t.'

 

It let viewers bypass the privacy settings of the image and video hosting website Photobucket.com and access and copy users private and password protected information, images and videos without permission. 

 

The DoJ said the conspirators used Photof****t to obtain guest passwords to access users' password protected albums.

 

They also allegedly transferred guest passwords to others who paid to use the Photof****t app.

'Fusking' isn't new. 

 

The term 'fusker' is a Danish term, taken from the German 'pfuscher' which refers to a 'bungler' who carries out a 'botch job'. 

 

When photos are taken on a camera or phone, for example, and, unless they are given a specific name, the image titles usually follow a sequence. 

 

For example, by the time a photo has been named DSC_010.jpg, there is the assumption that images titled DSC_001.jpg to DSC_009.jpg have also been taken and stored. 

 

On Photobucket, albums can be shared publicly, privately or protected by a password. 

 

However, regardless of which privacy setting has been selected, each individual image is given a unique URL that differs based on the photo's title.

 

And if a user shares this URL with a friend, that recipient can view the photo without entering a password or being given access to the private file. 

 

As a result, 'fusking' software can find a photo that has been shared publicly online, and then guess the URLs of the other images in the collection - even if they're private or protected.  

 

'It is not safe to hide behind your computer, breach corporate servers and line your own pockets by victimising those who have a right to protected privacy on the internet,' said US Attorney Walsh. 

 

'The US Attorney's Office is keenly focused on prosecuting those people for their theft - and for the wanton harm they do to innocent internet users.' 

 

Although photobucket isn’t as popular as it once was, there are still said to be thousands of dormant accounts.

 

Reports also suggest the hackers would target people with attractive profile pictures, in the hope that their accounts may contain nude photos.  

 

Bourret and Andrianakis both face one count of conspiracy, which carries a penalty of not more than five years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 (£158,000) fine. 

 

They each face one count of computer fraud, aid and abet, which also carries a penalty of not more than five years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 (£158,000) fine. 

 

Finally, they each face two counts of access device fraud, which carries a penalty of not more than ten years in federal prison, and up to a $250,000 (£158,000) fine, per count.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant US Attorney David Tonini.

 

The charges contained in the indictment are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Tjeerd Veenhoven from The Netherlands had created iFan, which uses wind power to charge up an iPhone. The condition is that the device should be able to get winds in order to get the power generated. One suggestion as shared on his blog, is to tie up the device on a bicycle or a car. The firm is working on using the crystals, which it calls NanoDots, for displays and semiconductors as well as batteries.

The firm is working on using the crystals, which it calls NanoDots, for displays and semiconductors as well as batteries.

In addition, doctors measure lactate during exercise testing of patients for conditions marked by abnormally high lactate levels, such as heart or lung disease.

Currently, lactate testing is inconvenient and intrusive because blood samples must be collected from the person at different times during the exercise regime and then analysed.

The World Bank has approved a $60 million credit facility for Ghana to improve the Electricity Company of Ghana's (ECG) financial performance, minimise its commercial losses and contribute to increased revenue and cash flow for the power distributor. The no-interest, long-term credit facility was approved on April 30, 2015 under the International Development Association (IDA) scheme aimed at supporting programmes in the poor developing countries. The credit provides additional financing to the Ghana Energy Development and Access Project (GEDAP) originally approved by theBank Group s Board on July 26, 2007, including $90 million and anadditional $70 million approved on June 3, 2010. The GEDAP funds have broadly supported 

(i) Sector and Institutional Development; 
(ii) Electricity Distribution Improvement; 
(iii) Electricity Access and Renewable Energy; 
(iv) Expanded Capacity for Electricity Distribution Improvement;
 (v) Revenue Collection Improvement; and 
(vi) Management and Planning Enhancement. 

Most of this new financing will be used to increase the scope and impact of ongoing activities to strengthen ECG s billing and metering systems to improve its operational efficiency. As the agency responsible for managing the energy consumer accounts, ECG's performance has a major impact on the entire energyvalue chain. 

The country is currently experiencing a significant deficit in the generation and supply of electricity. "Improving ECG's performance could help create better conditions for attracting private financing to generate desperately needed new power. 

This shortage of power is also curtailing economic growth and adversely affecting the profitability and sustainability of businesses", said a release from the United Nations financial institution.

ECG's operational and financial performance is critical to the sustainability of the entire energy sector value chain. 

Despite continued efforts in reducing operational losses and cost-reflective tariffs, ECG's revenue collection performance has declined while its costs have increased sharply. 

The long-standing issue of public bodies not paying for their electricity continues to burden the sector without any reimbursements of the uncollected revenues from Government. "We are happy to be providing additional resources to support Ghana s energy sector and it is our hope that ECG would use these resources to build much needed operational capacity, fix the bottle necks hindering its smooth operation and financial stability, and deliver reliable and sustainable services to its customers" a statement attributed to World Bank's Country Director for Ghana, Yusupha Crookes, said. ECG needs to invest about $200 million annually over the next decade to keep up with rapidly growing power demand and improve service quality to acceptable levels. 

A significant portion of ECG's investments are funded by short-term commercial debt and suppliers credits, which are expensive and pose an additional financial burden on the sector.

Ferdinand thanked the staff who treated his wife at the south London hospital, adding: "I would also like to express my gratitude for the dedication and expertise of the staff led by Professors Johnstone and Clarke at the Royal Marsden.

"Their valiant efforts to prolong Rebecca's all-too-short life will not be forgotten."

This includes the reality that, someday soon, artificiality will get bored of their repetitive tasks and finally decide to take over “wide segments of daily life.”

GigaOM Research’s Stowe Boyd agrees that people won’t like it very much, but contends that artificial sex workers will be dealt with much like how “critics today bemoan selfies as an indicator of all that’s wrong with the world.”

From the production line to your bedroom. These sexbots will look, feel and move similar to an actual human being, and will probably be decent enough to satisfy the sexual desires of most people.

Who knows what would happen if lovotics — the study of human-bot relationships — progresses so much that people actually fall in love with their sexbot? There’s most likely going to be some extensive ramifications.

When futurologist Ian Yeoman spoke at Australia’s Tourism Futures conference, he forecasted that there would soon be fake resorts with robot staff, including robot prostitutes.

Here’s what Yeoman had to say:

Robotics will become important, because you’re going to have labour shortages in the future. Even robot prostitutes’ that would not pass on diseases such as HIV could make an appearance.

We’d like to think that things would never get as bad as they did in I, Robot or A.I. Artificial Intelligence. Having a real-life sci-fi thriller on my hands is not something I’d like to experience in my lifetime, or being forced to have sex with a robot.

“You don’t need a battery room …A normal household can mount this on their garage or the outside wall of their house and it doesn’t take up any room. It’s flat against the wall,” Musk said. “It’s designed to work with solar system out of the box.”

Unfortunately for Ghanaians, it seems that ‘dumsor’ is here to stay and this device will serve as an alternative to the generators and inverters currently on the market but at 3000$, it is way too expensive for most of us and is at this point impractical. Lets just pray and hope they make a variant for developing countries

Presenter Strips naked during news report on Cristiano Ronaldo

A segment from Venezuelan TV this week has gone viral after it featured a female presenter taking off all her clothes during a news report on Cristiano Ronaldo.

Presenter Yuvi Pallares, who is part of the controversial Venezuelan news show ‘Stripping the News’, undressed live on air while reporting a story about the Real Madrid superstar.

The TV show blacked out Pallares’s private parts to make sure the video did not contravene any visual issues.

As to the news segment itself, Pallares was reporting the recent confessions from Chilean model Daniella Chavez, who said that she’d love to get together with Cristiano.

Some students of the Universal Hall of the Koforidua Polytechnic in the Eastern Region of Ghana took over an intended procession of the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the polytechnic when they chose to go naked.

The students were part of the large procession of students who marched through the streets to advertise their 2015 SRC week celebration.

The naked students for fear of victimization by colleague and parents covered their faces with their shirts in a ‘ninja-like fashion’ and were guided by heavily built colleagues who prevented onlookers from taking photographs of the naked students.

The students from the all-male hall of the Polytechnic intermittently paused at junctions and performed certain rituals which attracted attention of onlookers.

However, the peaceful procession turned violent when the heavily built gentlemen attacked a pedestrian at the B Foster Junction.

The pedestrian was spotted attempting to pictures of the naked students marching through the streets.

This led to the intervention by personnel of the Ghana Police Service who restored clam and guided the students through the streets and back to their campus.
